National Health Center is observed the second week of August every year and takes place August 7-13th this year.
It is promoted by the National Association of Community Centers which seek to celebrate the accomplishments within their communities. They endeavor to spread awareness about the importance of community health centers. They also look to advocate for emergency and long-term funding for community health centers to ensure smooth provision of services to everyone for years to come.
You can look for community health events and participate in them. Community health events bring on site health care services to local facilities.
National Health Center Week is important because health centers ensure that comprehensive care is available to all regardless of income or insurance status because your greatest asset is health. They provide service to racial and ethnic minorities, reducing health disparities in these groups. Health Centers overcome barriers such as geographical, cultural, linguistic, etc. to provide primary and preventive health.
What are something you can do to observe National Health Center Week? You can get a check-up, spread awareness about Health Centers, or volunteer at a Health Care Center. You can look for community health events and participate in them. Community health events bring on site health care services to local facilities. They provide essential health services and information about their current health.
